CareEvolve HIPAA Readiness Statement The implementation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) regulations impacts electronic billing and the security and privacy of protected health information by all covered entities. In response to this challenge, CareEvolve has implemented an approach to identify, assess and plan for changes required by the HIPAA regulations. A HIPAA Oversight Committee was formed in 2002 to coordinate this task. CareEvolve appointed a HIPAA Compliance Officer, established a HIPAA Project Office, and developed a framework for HIPAA Compliance activities. As mandated in the proposed rules, a Privacy/Security Officer has also been appointed. CareEvolve shall maintain the security and confidentiality of PHI as required of the Covered Entity by applicable laws and regulations. While CareEvolve may use PHI for purposes of managing its internal business processes relating to its functions under our agreement with covered entities, we shall not use PHI otherwise than is expressly permitted by law. CareEvolve is committed to HIPAA compliance, and our focus is on our responsibilities to the covered entities we have relationships with, including patients, doctors and health care organizations we serve to ensure we meet the HIPAA standards, while not negatively impacting their ability to deliver care.
